January is often the time that people start to think about making changes to their appearance. The realisation that another year has passed makes us assess our age, our looks, what we are unhappy about and what we may want to change in our lives.
However, it’s important to remember that there is no rush. I won’t treat anyone who I feel has made a hasty decision about undergoing a cosmetic procedure. You need to take time to decide if it’s the right course of action for you.
Research potential doctors, research possible treatments. Have consultations to build up a bigger picture of what’s possible, but don’t go ahead with any treatment on the spot. It’s a good idea to discuss any potential treatments with close friends (after all, why should these things be secret?) and most of all, take you time.
These days there are many successful alternatives to surgery as I’ve discussed on my blog. But even non-invasive procedures should be carefully researched and considered.
I’ve written two articles on what you should expect from your cosmetic doctor. These might help if you are currently considering going ahead with a finding a doctor or undergoing a procedure.
